Encourage adults to ENJOY playing. They are not in it to become professionals, and they are doing this because they want to.

Adults are characteristically impatient while learning to play an instrument. They think they should make much more progress than they are. They are very aware of the intended result. Kids, however, are just trying to do what you tell them, and are happy if you’re happy. Different world.

Adults will often over-analyze. Get them to focus on one small concept at a time while they are playing.
